Record GDP Growth in Bulgaria

A record GDP growth of 6.8% was recorded in Bulgaria for the first half of 2005. The planned growth for the year is 5.3%.

There are speculations, though, that growth might slow down due to flood damages. This one baffles me a bit. I though that the huge renovation work was supposed to create jobs, value added, and ultimately spur some growth. Apparently this is either not the case out there, or the line of thought of local analysts does not move in this direction.
